AK Esquire is made up of two partners: Alexander Karantzalis and Matt Karim.
Alexander Karantzalis
Alex is the managing partner of AK Esquire’s Business and Civil litigation department. While he is well-versed in all areas of the law, his expertise is primarily focused on Real Estate Law and Business Contracts in South Florida.
In addition to assisting with the acquisition, financing and sale of high-net worth business and residential properties; handling matters between Landlords and Tenants; and Business Litigation, Mr. Karantzalis has written and lectured on legal topics related to Federal Reserve Law and the importance of legal counsel during business formation and growth.
Mr. Karantzalis has recently obtained his real estate license and will soon be opening his own office to further assist the citizens of Broward County.

Mr. Karantzalis is a member of the American Bar Association’s Business Law and Tort Trial and litigation Practice Sections, Broward Attorneys’ Real Estate Council, as well as the Florida Bar Business Law Section. He earned his B.S. in Legal Studies at Barry University in 2012, where he is Delta Epsilon Iota and his J.D. in 2016 from St. Thomas University School of Law.
Matthew Karim
Matt is the managing partner of AK Esquire’s Criminal and Family Law department. His expertise is centered around matters of personal injury, the family court system, and criminal litigation. Mr. Karim is committed to representing and protecting his clients vigorously in various areas of the law.
Mr. Karim has successfully negotiated many custody claims and reduced criminal sentences. Recently, he was able to negotiate 2-years of probation for a defendant who was facing multiple felonies and a 58-year prison sentence as well as several six-figure settlements for clients in car accident cases, this past year.
Mr. Karim has written and lectured on legal topics relating to issues in defending crimes of strict liability and the second amendment as it relates to civil commitments and psychiatric hospitalizations of patients.
He is a member of the American Bar Association’s Criminal Justice and Family Law Sections, as well as the Florida Bar Criminal Law Section. He earned his B.A. in Psychology, in 2010 from The George Washington University and his J.D. in 2017 from the University of Baltimore. He completed post-baccalaureate work in Medicine at Harvard University.
